When you get up each morning, how do you think about the day? If your day is about checking off things on the to do list, your value as a team member, the recognition of your newest idea, or the success of those close to you, your good feelings are on borrowed time. Your happiness now hinges on life organizing itself in the way you have anticipated. We have all experienced that exuberance, thrill and wonder when everything we planned seems to fall into place.
The beauty is that that moment, that alignment is ours for the taking every day, in every moment. What if when you woke up each morning, your task was to feel good? To pick thoughts, perspectives, activities that felt right, that brought you to life?
We have that option at all times, but we seldom choose it. We choose negativity, criticism, “reality.” The truth is that your reality lies in what you choose to see. If your happiness and good feeling depend on life lining itself up in a way that pleases you, those positive moments may be few and far between.
Your challenge is to make every moment one that causes you to feel good. There is always a perspective that allows positivity. Despite the “reasons” for you to be anxious, worried, angry, unappreciated, etc… choose to feel good. Decide that the most important thing in your day is to feel good.
How adept are you at focusing your attention there?
